‘The Buccaneers’ Trailer Follows Free-Spirited American Debutantes In 1870s London
This is what self-insert fics are made of.
The official trailer for period drama The Buccaneers has arrived, and it’s giving 2003’s What a Girl Wants set in the 1870s vibes. Too bad Colin Firth isn’t here.
Based on Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel, the eight-episode series follows a group of American girls who travel to London for the season to secure themselves both husbands and titles. Labelled “new money” by the locals, the women encounter a serious culture clash as their free-spirited ways cause them to butt heads with English tradition.
The series’ ensemble cast features Kristine Frøseth, Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag, and Imogen Waterhouse, as well as Christina Hendricks, Mia Threapleton, Josh Dylan, Guy Remmers, Matthew Broome, and Barney Fishwick.
The Buccaneers arrives Nov. 8 on Apple TV+.
