Disney’s ‘Snow White’ Teaser Trailer Sees Gal Gadot And Rachel Zegler In The Spotlight
We finally got our first look at Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White. The trailer was shown at Disney’s D23 convention, featuring Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) in the titular role and Gal Gadot (Heart of Stone, Wonder Woman 1984) as the Evil Queen, it’s been a long wait for this film that’s been troubled by production issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This adaptation of the classic Disney film has promised to “expand on the original” and features new songs from the Oscar-winning and Tony-winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen). The film was directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) with a screenplay co-written by Greta Gerwig (Barbie, Ladybird, Little Women) and Erin Cressida Wilson (The Girl on the Train).
The film has also been embroiled in controversy from right-wing attacks against the casting of Zegler, who is of Colombian descent, and the criticism from stars like Peter Dinklage about the portrayal of “dwarfs” in the film — rumored to be known as “magical creatures” now rather than dwarfs — and the absence of little person actors to play them.
The rollout of this one is going to be intense, but you can watch it yourself in theaters on March 21, 2025.
